Recently, Mr. Zhang Jie, President of GCPC Group, led a delegation together with Mr. Ricky Phoon, head of Australian new energy company Helix Matrix, and its core management team on a visit to the headquarters of StarCharge (Wanbang Digital Energy). Ms. Shao Danwei, Chairwoman of StarCharge, and the company’s core overseas business team warmly received the delegation. The three parties held in-depth discussions on four major areas: comprehensive energy transformation for Australian mines, intelligent charging in mining areas, independent large-scale grid-side energy storage, and computing-power–electricity coordination for data centers. Australia’s energy transition is currently continuing to accelerate. - Integrated Mining Microgrids and Intelligent Charging Facilities for Mining Areas
The three parties will focus on Australian open-pit mining areas and industrial and mining parks to develop integrated off-grid and grid-connected microgrids combining photovoltaics, energy storage, backup power, and charging for mining equipment. By leveraging StarCharge’s coordinated dispatching capabilities across its charging network and microgrid, the projects will optimize electricity-use structures in mining areas, substantially reduce diesel consumption, and lower mine operating costs. High-protection charging facilities will also be provided for mining trucks and commuter fleets, with plans to implement multiple benchmark mining demonstration projects within the year.
- Joint Development of Independent Large-Scale Grid-Side Energy Storage Power Stations
Separate from the energy-storage systems supporting mining areas, the three parties will jointly develop large-capacity energy-storage projects on Australia’s public power-grid side. The energy-storage power stations will connect independently to the grid and will be integrated into StarCharge’s virtual power plant platform to participate in Australia’s electricity spot market and frequency-regulation ancillary-services market. Multiple revenue streams will enhance asset value and further improve the parties’ Australia-wide energy-storage industry deployment.
III. Innovative Cooperation in Computing-Power–Electricity Coordination for Data Centers
The three parties will open up a new business track serving Australia’s rapidly developing computing-power infrastructure. By integrating the advantages of its three energy networks, StarCharge will provide integrated energy-storage and microgrid power-supply systems adapted to fluctuations in computing-power loads. Through dynamic electricity-load regulation by the virtual power plant, the system will achieve uninterrupted power supply, peak-valley arbitrage, and efficient consumption of green electricity, creating low-cost, low-carbon integrated energy solutions for data centers.
In addition, the three parties reached a consensus on the commercial operation of virtual power plants, the joint construction of an energy digitalization platform, and a medium- to long-term framework for the batch development of projects. They will establish a regular tripartite communication mechanism and continue to explore market opportunities arising from the integration of new energy and digital computing power in Australia.
